Phishing Attack on Punjab National Bank Site

There has been alarming rise in the phishing incidents in the past month on all major financial institution internet sites.

We have regularly been updating our visitors about these mails.We also thank our readers/visitors to share such incidents with us and taking an active part in combating phishing by making public aware of these mails.

Here is an another email alleged to be sent by Punjab National Bank to its users which has been sent to us by our visitor Mr. Maninder Singh, a techie by profession who runs a successful websites such as www.123oye.com and www.cybersmart.in.

Another Phishing Attack on HDFC Internet Banking Site

There has been yet another phishing attack on HDFC Internet banking website. We have previously also reported the phishing attack on HDFC servers in our post dated 20th May, 2008. The post can be viewed here.

The phishing activity has been reported by our visitor / reader Mr. Someshwar Singh.

Phshing Attack on HDFC Bank

Another phishing attack and this time on HDFC Bank.

Phishing is an act by which a user receives an e-mail claiming to be the legitimate enterprise in an attempt to cheat and take control of user’s critical information with a view to steal its Identity. This act is also described as “Identity Theft”.

Following is an e-mail received by the users and once the User ID & Password is entered on the phished servers, the users are directed to HDFC website.
